Harvest (Kaamatan) festival which is celebrated by the indigenous community of Sabah on 30th and 31st  May every year; is a festivals which is closely associated with the end of the planting cycle – a time for harvest. For generations they have celebrated these unique festival as “magavau” or thanksgiving for a bountiful paddy harvest, and a hope of continuous good harvest in years to come.

This year’s Kaamatan festival theme of celebration is “Koubasanan Impowon Pisompuruan om Piobpinain” a Kadazandusun phrase which literally means “culture as the foundation of unity and kinship”; and is indeed relevant to SIDMA College Sabah as the staff are from a very diverse background and practicing a progressive corporate culture.

In line with this auspicious celebration, Dr Morni Hj Kambrie (Chairman and Founder of SIDMA College Sabah), through SIDMA Staff Welfare Association (PKKKSS) distributed Kaamatan goodies to SIDMA College Sabah staff celebrating the festival.

Goodies in the form of 10kg of rice, fresh whole chicken, fresh chicken wings and soft drinks were distributed to SIDMA staff at SIDMA Atrium on 26 May 2018 by Madam Azizah Khalid Merican (CEO). Also present during the event were Mr Zain Azrai Bin Mohd Noor (Chairman of PKKKSS), PKKSSS Central Committee, and SIDMA staff.

Parent Teacher Association (PTA) also known as PIBG and Islamic Education Committee of SMK Perempuan, Likas, in collaboration with SIDMA College Sabah collectively held an Iftar Dinner “Iftar Ramadan Bersama SIDMA College” in conjunction with the retirement of Madam Hajah Norulashikin Mohd Taib, Principal of SMK Perempuan Likas, Kota Kinabalu.

The event which was held at Dataran Srikandi, SMK Perempuan, Likas on 23 May 2018 was attended by more than 300 people consisted of SMK Perempuan Likas PIBG Central Committee, students’ parents, School Principal and the management committee, SMK Perempuan Islamic Education Committee,  teachers and staff as well as Dr Morni Hj Kambrie (Chairman and Founder of SIDMA College), SIDMA Board of Management and staff and local Likas community.

Earlier in the evening, the Form III and Form V students that attended the dinner also performed a Solat Hajat, to seek God gracing and forgiveness for them to sit for the coming PT 3 and SPM examination with confidence and success.

Dr Morni Hj Kambrie (Chairman and Founder of SIDMA College UNITAR Sabah), Madam Azlina Ngatimin (Director of Corporate Relations and Business Development) and Madam Azizah Khalid Merican (CEO) cordially invites SPM or STPM leavers, Diploma graduates or those with other related qualifications to enrol for their tertiary education with the college for the June 2018 intake of new students.

During this special promotion period (21 May 2018 - 21 June 2018), students will be exempted from paying the Registration Fee of RM 350.00. Beside that, their first month hostel fee of RM 150.00 will also be waived. This is special promotion is subjected to terms and conditions. Furthermore, this privilege is only applicable to students who registered directly with the college (and not through any third party), and ONLY for the following Diploma Courses: 

  1. Diploma Early Childhood Education Studies.
