SIDMA College Sabah Prima Dansa dancers managed to outshine dancers from others institutions of higher learning in Borneo during the 7th Borneo Dance Festival 2018 at Dewan Sri Kenyalang, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Bintulu Campus on 3 November 2018. SIDMA team was awarded second runner-up for the Overall Best Performance, Best Music and best choreographer. The first and second placing went to universities from Indonesia.

Immediately after the award presentation, Dr Morni Hj Kambrie, Founder and Chairman of SIDMA College, congratulated all Prima Dansa dancers for their excellent performances. Dr Morni was also feeling delighted for being blessed with one the best choreographers. He too conveyed his thanks and appreciation to all who have contributed, supported and led the team to success.

Former students of SIDMA College’s Diploma Early Childhood Education from its first convocation held in 2014, gathered together with other students and staff and co-organised SIDMA College first ever SIDMA Alumni Annual Dinner themed “Retro Night” 2018 at Tang Dynasty Hotel Kota Kinabalu on 27 October 2018.

According to its Programme Director, Ms Ereka Ejim, the SIDMA College Alumni Dinner was held with the main objective of reuniting past and current students from SIDMA College Sabah with the intention of connecting the graduates and students from SIDMA College UNITAR Sabah Regional Centre as well as graduates from SIDMA College Sarawak and strengthening their bond together; as well as the bond between the graduates and SIDMA College Staff. The dinner also aims to build professional networks and connections that can lead to opportunities of making a contribution to the Alma Mater, facilitating job cooperation between alumni and assisting the Alma Mater to nurture young generation.  The dinner was delighted to be joined by Dr Morni Hj Kambrie (Founder and Chairman of SIDMA College).

SIDMA College UNITAR Sabah believes that in this new era of globalization, educators are often challenged in equipping students with needed 21 st century skills. Not only do they need to be proficient in ICT, they also need to focus on critical skills such as collaborative, critical and creative thinking and communicative as well as instilling values to them, part of which they need to be interested in their lifelong learning to successfully participate in the global economy.
