KOTA KINABALU: The first coding school in Sabah, Elevate Academy of Technology and Innovation (Elevate Academy), recently inked Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with two learning institutions here to provide training and development solutions in emerging technologies.

The agreements were signed with Sidma College and KKIP Aerospace Training Centre (KATC) during a ceremony on Tuesday (May 9) here, witnessed by the state Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry deputy permanent secretary II Alijah Ismail.

The event, which coincided with Hari Raya celebrations, was also attended by various industry stakeholders, representatives from agencies under the Ministry and other state government agencies, said Elevate Academy in a statement on Thursday (May 11).

On April 10th, 2023, Gabungan Mahasiswa Mahasiswi SIDMA Sabah (GAMSIS) organized a program called Ihya Ramadan, which was aimed at promoting the values and spirit of the holy month of Ramadan. The program started at 1.30 pm and lasted until 9 pm, and it was attended by all Muslim staff and students.340643619 1309225306293357 788031303568442711 n

The event included a variety of activities, which were designed to provide an immersive and engaging experience for everyone involved. One of the highlights of the program was the Majlis Khatam Al Quran, where participants had the opportunity to complete the recitation of the entire Quran. This activity was followed by Islamic lecture that focused on the miracle of Al Quran and its relevance in contemporary times.

As the sun began to set, everyone gathered to participate in the break fasting ceremony, where they enjoyed a delicious meal of dates, water, and a variety of local dishes. This was followed by the Taraweeh congregational prayers, which provided an opportunity for everyone to reflect on their faith and connect with one another. In addition to the spiritual activities, the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, also prepared a dish called Bubur Lambuk to be distributed to everyone. This traditional dish, which is typically served during Ramadan, was a testament to the spirit of community and sharing that characterizes this holy month.

SIDMA College Student Representative Council (SRC) Team Building Program – was successfully held on March 17 – 19, 2023, at Kiulu Farm Stay in Kg. Mantob, Kiulu. It was arranged by the Student Affairs Department (STAD) under supervision of Mr. Terence Boyd Stephen.

These three-day course was designed to help the participants develop a deeper understanding of the key roles and responsibilities within the team, align their personal objectives with team’s and practice professional decision-making techniques to solve problems relating to the team’s concerns. This program was vital to develop their ability to lead, collaborate and communicate among the new member. Additionally, STAD believed that the program would provide newly appointed SRC members with support and guidance to help them work as an effective team throughout their terms.
